The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases http://mhddad.dhr.georgia.gov/portal/site (MHDDAD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mental Health/Co-Occurring Disorders Ombudsman.

Person selected will serve as the official designated to protect the rights of consumers of mental health and/or co-occurring services. S/he will Promote the highest attainable standards of treatment, competence, efficiency and justice for the safety, well being and rights of consumers with mental illness, developmental disabilities, chemical dependency, or co-occurring disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Five or more years experience leading and managing in a human service delivery organization.
  • Expert level knowledge, skills and experience related to the treatment, needs, and rights of consumers.
  • Change agent and excellent written, verbal, and strong inter-personal skills required.
