The 16th GAPSE statewide training conference will take place October 3 – 5, 2011 at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education in Athens. 

Call for Presentations:

The GAPSE conference planning task group is taking applications for presenters at the conference. The deadline for proposals is JUNE 30th.

All proposals that highlight Collaboration resulting in JOBS in integrated settings for individuals with disabilities and offers an application that practitioners and/or support employees can implement immediately.

As you consider your presentation for the GAPSE conference, please remember these few simple requirements:

 

  • Presenters must register for the conference & pay all required registration fees.
  • Presentations must reflect GAPSE’s commitment to community-based, competitive, integrated employment.
  • GAPSE prefers to receive proposals electronically; you may submit your information to dawalker@clayton.k12.ga.us.  
  • If you do not have internet access, you may send proposal information to:

Submission Instructions – please provide:

 

  • Title of presentation.
  • A session abstract (maximum 150 words) for the conference program.
  • A session description that expands on the information in the session abstract.  This may include an outline of the information to be presented, ways the presentation supports JOBS in integrated settings for persons with disabilities, strategies for engaging the audience, and any other information that you feel may be helpful in evaluating your proposal.  Please include learning objectives.
  • A short biography (maximum 200 words) for each presenter.
  • Target audience (service providers, supported employees, family members, advocates, employers, SE administrators, etc.).
  • Type of session (keynote, lecture w/ Q&A’s, cracker barrel/open discussion, panel, other).
  • Desired session length (60 or 90 minutes).
  • Audio-visual requirements.
